Bye-Bye, Debt; Hello Expansion!

Carson Manufacturing is featured example of how Hoosier companies look to grow.

The front-page article on March 14, 2005's Business section of the Indianapolis Star highlights Carson Manufacturing Company, Inc. as a prime example of a privately-owned Hoosier company that has emerged from the recent economic recession fully equipped and prepared for expansion.

The article written by Star reporter Norm Heikens, focuses in on how some of Indiana's privately-owned businesses have weathered the economic storm and repositioned themselves financially by decreasing their debt to equity ratio in order to be in the best possible position for growth. Carson was specifically picked for this article because in the last five years, we have lowered our debt to equity ratio from 3 to 1 to .3 to 1.

Barbara Carson-Ferguson, President of Carson Manufacturing Company, Inc. is quoted in the article saying, "Now we're focused on growing the business. Financially, we can handle growth." But unlike most manufacturers that are still waiting to see the green light to begin hiring people to handle the growth, Carson has seen the sustained increase in demand across all three product lines and contract manufacturing needed to begin actively recruiting skilled individuals to fill several technical and assembly positions.
