Rotary Switches

Carson rotary switches are versatile, durable, economical, UL and CSA recognized fractional horsepower rated rotary switches for handling inductive motor draw. Several HVAC industry leaders like International Environmental, Trane, McQuay, Airtherm, First Operations, Hydro-Air and Bryant Carrier among many others have trusted in Carson rotary switches since they were first introduced in 1948.

Built with heavy duty wiring, Carson rotary switches are great for commercial building fan controls, industrial fans, farm fans, sports fans, floor polishers, portable heaters, blowers and dryers.

Resistive Load (Switching Capacity) Rating

• 10 Amps at 125 VAC
• 5 Amps at 250/277 VAC

Inductive (Motorload) Ratings

• 1/4 HP at 125/277 VAC
• 1/2 HP at 250 VAC

Standard Switch and Shaft Dimensions

• 2" x 1-1/2" x 11/16"
• 3/16" Square Shaft with 13/32" Extension
• 15/32" Double D 32 Threaded Bushing with 1/4" Extension
• 6-1/2" Long Leads

• Male 1/4" quick connect terminals or PVC insulated lead wires trimmed to customer's desired length.
• Plate mounted assembly with rotary switch
• Black winged push-on knob
• .03" Protective fiber insulator

Series 'D' Rotary Switch

• Double contact for 2 common circuits (1 pole)
• 2-5 positions plus "off"
• Ideal for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications with one pole for fan control and second pole for heater control

Series 'A' Rotary Switch

• Single contact (1 pole)
• 2 position "on and off" to 12 position capabilities
• Ideal for heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) applications

Series 'TA' Rotary Switch

• Single contact (1 pole)
• Isolated auxiliary circuit used for indicator light
• Up to 3 positions plus "off"
• Ideal for use with power valves, contractors and other large motors and HVAC

Series 'S' Rotary Switch

• Combines any standard A, D or TA Series rotary switches (2 pole)
• Customized for your specific application
• UL recognized only
